It seemed like just another ordinary day in the bustling market. Vendors called out their prices, shoppers bargained for goods, and people hurried by—yet for one man named Miguel, this day would mark the beginning of a brand-new life.
One of our teams in Chile had set up a small speaker in the market, playing music to draw a crowd. We danced, laughed, and invited people closer so they could hear the Gospel.
Off in the distance, Miguel was listening. For two years he had walked with a cane, living with constant pain in his legs from a degenerative condition. One leg was shorter than the other. That morning, he said the Lord directed him to come to the very market where we had gathered.
After sharing the Gospel, our team invited those present to pray with them to receive Jesus. Then they began telling how Jesus not only forgave sins but also healed the sick—how He did miracles when He walked the earth and still does them today. They had barely finished praying when commotion erupted to the side. A cane went flying into the air, and Miguel began to dance.
In that moment of simple, childlike faith, Miguel believed the words he had heard and received his miracle. The pain in his legs was completely gone. As the team spoke with him, he told them his story, and they quickly realized the Lord wasn’t finished yet. His leg was still shorter than the other—so they prayed again. Right there in the middle of the market, before the eyes of everyone gathered, Miguel’s shorter leg grew out. He stood tall, even, and whole for the first time in years.
That morning, Miguel walked away not just partially healed but completely restored—a living testimony to the goodness and power of the one true, living God. And every person in that marketplace had a front-row seat to witness the miracle.
