The CORE Program

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes The CORE Program different?

The CORE Program was designed to equip and empower those who have a passion to win the lost and unreached people of the world. Through intensive hands on training, this program gets you in motion doing what you were designed to do. The goal throughout this 3-year program is for you to be self- sustained and launched into your purpose.

How long does the program run?

The CORE Program runs 12-months at a time, beginning in September, and ending in August.

What will my typical schedule look like?

While schedules will vary based on ministry opportunities, a normal week for this program looks like this:
Tuesday-Thursday: 8:30-3:30 – In office training & work.
This will include teaching sessions, missions projects, and hands on training. Different training and projects are assigned depending on the year.
Friday-Monday: Off – These days are an opportunity for you to work an outside job if needed.

What is included in the cost?

Tuition covers the cost of books, ministry material, training, and guest ministers. You will be responsible for your own living expenses: the cost of monthly housing, transportation, food and other living expenses.

Can I make monthly payments towards my tuition?

$1000 is due on August 31st, and the remaining balance is due January 31st. Monthly payments can be made prior to these deadlines. If payments are passed due, a 15% late fee will be added to your tuition.

Do I still need to raise support for trips I’m attending?

Yes, you are still responsible to raise the support for any of the Global Ventures trips. Part of the training you will receive will be on how to effectively raise the funds through various fundraisers and partner communication. We advise anyone preparing to join this program to talk extensively to the CORE director about how to get started financially.

Does Global Ventures provide housing?

Housing is available; however, space is limited. Once you have been accepted, we will work with you to find the best living arrangement possible. If housing is full, we will provide you with information with nearby apartment complexes that you can look into.

What kind of computer/software do I need?

You will be required to have a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro in order to work efficiently with the software we use in the office. If you have any specific software questions, please call our office at 918.266.5764.

How old do I have to be?

The CORE program is open to people ages 18 and up. You must have graduated from High School or received a GED in order to be qualified.

Can I have a job while enrolled?

Yes, we advise you to find a good part-time job in the Tulsa area working evenings but preferably Friday through Monday. This has been the best way to afford living expenses during this program. We also encourage you to raise as much support as you can before moving to Tulsa and beginning the CORE Program in the fall.

Can I attend other forms of schooling during the CORE program?

Some people have opted to take online classes while enrolled in this program, however, we would recommend you do this only if you don’t have to work many hours outside of the program.

Do I need to attend a Bible school or college first?

You are welcome to the CORE Program regardless of whether you’ve graduated from Bible School or college. Those who have previously attended a form of Bible School or college find that this program enriches their education by providing them with a unique practical outlet for what they have already learned, but in no way is it a requirement.

Is Global Ventures associated with a church or denomination?

We are not affiliated with any specific church or denomination, although we work with many. We are a non-profit Christian organization.

When will I know if I’ve been accepted or not?

Once we receive your application, we will begin the interview process. This could take anywhere from 1-2 months. Once you are accepted, you will receive an official notification in the mail.
