Thirty-seven-year-old Felmie had been struggling with problems in her left ear for three years. About a year ago, the issue worsened, and she completely lost hearing in that ear. Along with the deafness came pain in her head, and just a week before the festival, fluid began leaking from the ear.

Felmie didn’t know what caused the problem and was never able to consult a doctor because she couldn’t afford the medical care. She tried taking some old medication, but it did little to help.

When she came to the festival in Tangub City in the Philippines, she heard the message of the Gospel and joined in as we prayed for the sick. Following the instruction to place a hand where healing was needed, Felmie put her hand over her ear and believed. In that moment, her ear opened up, and her hearing was completely restored. She was overcome with emotion, moved to tears, and shared what God had done.

Our discipleship team later followed up with her. Felmie also brought several members of her family who hadn’t been able to attend the festival. When we shared the Gospel with them, nine of her family members prayed to receive Jesus for the very first time.
