John and Martine Smithwick each embraced the call of God on their lives at a young age. Their pursuit of it first led them to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for ministry training and then to the world.  In 1998, John founded the ministry while living in Lima, Peru, and quickly began ministering around the globe as an evangelist. At the same time, Martine had helped establish a church with her parents in Quebec, Canada. God miraculously brought the two together, and they married in 2001.  
 
Their combined giftings helped create a powerful, multi-faceted strategy of preaching the Gospel in unreached lands to unreached people groups. Their vision of initiating a global evangelism movement has carried them to over 40 nations, and they have seen over 2.5 million salvations and countless miracles! By providing effective training for pastors in each region, the Smithwick’s have seen long-term impact resulting in church plants along with on-going evangelism and discipleship. 
 
However, John and Martine’s heart wasn’t only to reach those who have never heard, but to raise up an army that is passionate about doing the same. This is why they facilitate teams of people to join them as well as establish training programs like Global Ventures School of Missions. They have personally mentored over 114 volunteers, interns, and students as well as trained over 2,800 short-term missionaries on the field.   
 
John and Martine have two sons, Andrew and David. The boys have grown up actively ministering alongside their parents on team trips. Both are award-winning athletes, but their desire to change the world in a Godly way has made them stand out among their peers as leaders and role models.
