The most frequently asked questions – answered here.

Q: What do I need to wear?

A: Street Ministry: Pants or capris with T-shirt (as long as it’s not offensive). No shorts or tank tops! Crusade Ministry: Dress or skirt w/ blouse for women (sometimes dress pants are allowed depending on the culture.) Dress slacks and button-down or polo shirt for men.

Q: Which part of the Nets do I memorize?

A: ALL of them! You will alternate every day and every location which parts you do – so know them all. If that is too much for you, choose at least two of the parts you can do. The more you have memorized, the more effective you will be when witnessing to people. Please take the time to be prepared; it makes a difference in the amount of people who are reached.

Q: Can I call home?

A: There is limited access to phones in some countries. We will do our best to make sure you can call home if needed, but we cannot guarantee anything. You may be able to email if there is a place at the hotel.

Q: How much money should I bring?

A: Bring $50 – $200 depending upon how many souvenirs you want to purchase and money for any additional drinks or snacks you might want. Everything else you will need (food, lodging, airline tickets, bus and taxi fares) is covered by JSMl.

Q: Do I need a converter?

A: Yes. Any converter (be sure it isn’t just an adapter) you buy at the store should work, and it will contain adapters that you will need.

Q: How many suitcases can I bring?

A: JSMl policy is each person will be allowed one checked baggage and one backpack. Even if the airlines do allow two checked bags, we cannot fit all of that luggage into the taxis or buses that we will be taking after we arrive in the country.

Q: When will I receive my flight itinerary?

A: We do our best to send out all flight itineraries 2 weeks prior to departure, but we cannot send them to you until we receive them from our travel agents. Therefore, you may not receive yours until one week prior to departure. .

Q: Will I get a ministry schedule for my trip?

A: All trip schedules are subject to change at the discretion of GV Staff. A basic ministry outline consists of: Street ministry during the day in teams, possible rest times in the afternoon, and an evening crusade at night in which everyone will participate.

Q: Can I arrive earlier or depart later than the set trip dates?

A: NO. Our trip dates are set and any deviations will have to occur separate from the trip.

Q: Can I contact Global Venture’s travel agent directly?

A: No, we do not provide that information to team members.

Q: Can I make my own travel arrangements or use air miles and meet the team in country?

A: No. All team members must fly to and from the designated locations with JSMl – no deviations or air miles accepted.

Q: If I receive more money than my trip cost, can l get a refund?

A: No. Because of lRS regulations, we cannot give any refunds. We can hold the funds for one trip year (not calendar year) for you, or it will be disbursed at GV’s discretion to another trip goer.
